DHOA, Making Disciples

This past October, Tom and Wallace considered it a great joy to walk beside 29 men as they accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

However, we know that the story doesn't end there. Discipleship is a crucial aspect of a Christian's spiritual journey. According to the Bible, a disciple is a learner who follows their master teacher, Jesus. This means learning about God through the study of the Bible, and becoming more like Him.

Jesus commands every believer in Matthew 28:19-20a to Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. If Jesus commands something, we better listen!

Thursday Wallace and Bertha opened the Discipleship Hall for DHOA's first ever discipleship class! About 40 men were in attendance!

Wallace began by sharing his personal testimony of coming to Christ. He instructed the men that the mission of the Scriptures is to make a sinner wise unto salvation through faith only in Christ Jesus. Wallace shared that we all must study the Scriptures to know God and His will, to instruct a believer in the way of righteousness, and to help a believer become more like Christ.

Bertha and a few other women from the village lovingly prepared a feast for all who attended.

After a hearty meal, Wallace shared the Gospel, the good news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord. At the end of the gathering, 13 additional men repented and declared Jesus as their Lord and Savior! Praise the Lord! Each man received their own Bible and were invited to the weekly gathering.

We are so excited about this opportunity! Please pray that Wallace and Bertha do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9

"Discipleship is not an option. Jesus says that if anyone would come after me, he must follow me." Tim Keller
